I sense that my sermon on Sunday stirred up quite a bit for some folks. We talked about “the fear of the Lord,” and how it’s less about being afraid of God than about giving God his proper weight and proportion in our lives, as well as acknowledging the significance of realities like judgment day and what lies beyond. A few snippets from Sunday:

Abide 365. Letting in the Jesus who is knocking.  A 365 day journey of learning how to live in Jesus, remain in Jesus, abide in Jesus.

“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you” (John 15:7).

“Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the light of my heart” (Jeremiah 15:16).

A Journey for the New Year

Star 28 (*28). The warm-up. Seeking, following Jesus. Getting our feet wet.

Abide 365. Diving in. “Abide in me, as I abide in you.” Living in Christ, as he lives in us.

“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you.” More about all this on Sunday. For now, how about reading John 15:1-17, and coming along?
